A comforting and creamy chicken tetrazzini dish combining tender chicken, pasta, and flavorful sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners or family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked and shredded chicken
  • 8 oz spaghetti or fettuccine
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (like parmesan or mozzarella)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Sauté the chopped onions and garlic in olive oil over medium heat until softened.
  4. Cook the sliced mushrooms until browned, then add frozen peas.
  5. Stir in the shredded chicken, dried thyme, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  6. Mix the chicken broth and heavy cream in a separate bowl and pour into the skillet.
  7. Combine the chicken mixture with the cooked pasta.
  8. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish, topping with cheese and breadcrumbs if desired.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  10. Cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overcook the pasta; it will continue to cook in the oven. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
