A delightful dish combining tender chicken with a flavorful sesame glaze, perfect for busy weeknights or meal prep.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce: In the crockpot, combine soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  2. Add the Chicken: Place the chicken into the crockpot, making sure it’s well-coated with the sauce.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl and add it to the crockpot.
  5. Shred the Chicken: Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot.
  6. Serve: Serve over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Notes

Ensure there’s enough space in the crockpot for even cooking. Adjust sweetness levels according to your preference.
