Ingredients
1 lb chicken tenders
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika
¼ tsp chili powder
⅛ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp onion powder
3 garlic cloves (minced)
¼ cup coconut aminos (or low sodium soy sauce)
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
¼ cup honey
2 tbsp butter (or oil)
Instructions
Prepare the chicken: Pat the chicken tenders dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix salt, black pepper, paprika, chili powder, cinnamon, and onion powder. Sprinkle this spice blend evenly over the chicken.
Cook the chicken: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter or oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Combine sauce ingredients: Stir in coconut aminos (or soy sauce), red wine vinegar, and honey. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Glaze the chicken: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, tossing in the sauce. Let it simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
Serve: Transfer the chicken to a serving plate and garnish with parsley or sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
Double the sauce for extra flavor. Don’t overcook the chicken to keep it moist.
