Kool-Aid Candy Apples are a fun and vibrant twist on the classic caramel apple, perfect for parties and fall festivities.

Ingredients

  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 1 pack of Kool-Aid mix (your favorite flavor)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • Optional: Candy sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apples: Wash the apples thoroughly and remove their stems. Insert a stick into the top of each apple, pushing it halfway in.
  2. Make the candy coating: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Heat over medium until boiling, stirring until dissolved.
  3. Add Kool-Aid: Once boiling, add Kool-Aid mix and stir until incorporated. Continue boiling until reaching hard crack stage (300°F).
  4. Dip the apples: Remove from heat, cool slightly, then dip each apple into the candy mixture, swirling for coverage.
  5. Set the apples: Place coated apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle with candy sprinkles if desired.
  6. Let cool completely until the candy sets. Enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh apples for best results. Avoid stirring the candy once it starts boiling to prevent crystallization.
