A simple and delicious slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts or Thighs
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, fresh and minced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch (optional)
  • Green Onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken: Place the chicken pieces at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Mix the sauce: In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until well blended.
  3. Pour over chicken: Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Cook: Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on either high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
  5. Thicken the sauce (optional): Remove the chicken once cooked and stir in cornstarch mixed with a little water. Cook for an additional 10 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve and garnish: Slice or shred the chicken and return it to the pot to mix with the sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Use fresh garlic and ginger for the best flavor. Adjust the sweetness by reducing honey if desired. Freeze leftovers for meal prep.
