Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 green onions, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Brown the chicken thighs in the skillet for about 5 minutes on both sides.
  4. Combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, and water in a bowl, then pour this mixture over the chicken.
  5. Simmer by bringing to a simmer, covering the skillet, and cooking for 15-20 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Drizzle the sauce over the sliced chicken and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.
